Advertised as an upmarket version of the 700, I had to have one. They never really went into full production, but I pestered Line 6 and they tipped me off about a couple that would be released to a shop miles away. I purchased over the phone, unseen, and I was not disappointed.
Far superior materials used, made the instrument feel way better than the 700, even though the electronics were identical. They are few and far between, and I have gigged this one (carefully) quite a few times. Somewhere, I have the magazine that debuted the model “for artists only” – yeah, well I guess that makes me some sort of artist then.
