In 1975 I bought a Grant Strat, but couldn’t keep up the payments so it had to go. I then borrowed a Columbus Les Paul, but that had a broken headstock, so I really had to get something to use.
A visit to Bonners in Eastbourne presented me with this used Stratocaster copy by Hohner (not Hofner).
It has been with me ever since, used extensively (by Nick) in our duo, S.O.S, repaying its £85 purchase price many times over. The Rock n Roll sticker was applied by Andi, Nick’s daughter, when she was quite young…
Part of my history, like the Hofner 456, it will never leave the collection.
